Countdown to Your Wedding Away
It’s important to plan early. The following checklist will help you plan for your destination wedding.
1 year to 6 Months Before Your Destination Wedding
___ Congratulations, Time to announce your engagement!
___ Decide on a budget for travel(air, accommodations, transfers and activities) and wedding ceremony & Reception, legal documents.
___ Choose a wedding date
___ Choose a wedding location

Plus, with their connection with the resorts and wedding coordinator in destination they will provide you with all the necessary information that you will need regarding marriage requirements, documents & marriage licenses needed, medical test, waiting period, witnesses, wedding packages.
____ Confirm wedding date and book travel arrangements and purchase travel insurance.
____ Start putting together your guest list
____ Send “Save the Date” invites (Supplied by Tropical Escapes)
____ Obtain necessary legal documents, including, passports, divorce certificates, visas, identification, birth certificates, notarized declarations of single status.
___ Check with local Travel Health Clinic and the Canadian consulates for info on immunizations required for different countries.
6 to 4 Months Before Your Destination Wedding
___ Mail out formal wedding invitations
___ Work with your wedding coordinator to decide on added extras: florist, musicians, wedding photographer and wedding officiate.
___ Finalize wedding ceremony & reception details, have signed contracts to be sent and pay balance.
___ Start considering the wedding party’s attire
___ Order wedding favors & wedding party gifts
___ Register for wedding gifts
___ Buy wedding rings.
4 to 2 Months Before Your Destination Wedding
___ Begin thinking about your wedding vows and music
___ Make sure all of the wedding party and important people have made finalized their travel arrangements.
___ Finalize the wedding party attire.
___ Pay final balance on travel arrangements
2 to 1 Months Before Your Destination Wedding
___ Have your dress final fitting
___ Shop for vacation wear, including swimsuits, a rehearsal outfit.
___ Confirm all final head count and details with wedding
___ Arrange table seating
___ Assemble favors and/or welcome bags
___ Travel documents will be delivered approximately 3 weeks prior to departure
3 to 1 Days Before Your Destination Wedding
___ Schedule mani and pedi appointments
___ Reconfirm flights times 24 hrs prior to departure.
___ Leave a copy of your house keys with a friend or relative.
___ Meet with your wedding coordinator, visit ceremony sites and confirm last minute details and changes.
___ Make an appointment at resort salon for a hairstylist, make up.
___ Distribute welcome bags to guests’ rooms
Your Wedding Day
___ Breathe, Do your best to relax, focus on each other, and have fun with your friends and family.
__ Spend lots of romantic time together, but don’t forget to get out and enjoy the beautiful destination.
Once you have returned.
___ Once you have received your Marriage Certificate be sure to contact appropriate departments to change your name on your driver’s license, Health Card, Canada Revenue Agency, Social Insurance Number (SIN), Canadian Passport office, Bank, Doctor’s office, Employer, Insurance company, Utility accounts.
